Peat moss is dead. You could get live SPHAGNIUM moss from the stuff sold in bags.

i have some but how do i get it to grow what the correct temp, light, humdiity or other condition

Peat moss is alive on top, it grow on it's dead stuff, which should be beige or whitish, with no chlorophyll. Many mosses replicate by lopping off it's top, and letting the wind carry it to another moist spot.

Peat moss is unique, and creates huge boggs, which can be very deep, with the dead, acidic residue of past colonies. This resevoir of fiber holds all the water for the current residents living on top.

I am no expert, but I do know a little about moss. It is hard to kill, it will wait patiently for the next watering. Sun will burn kill it, and copper will kill it, too much alkalinity will make it not grow.

I can't believe you resurrected this old thread to show us you know nothing about peat moss. Peat moss is dead, dried out, milled sphagnum moss usually coming in compressed bails and it's definitely brown.
I didn't know moss could lop it's top off all by itself?? Very interesting!
