Another move impending

I am looking for a new place to move since they are planning on selling the park and my trailer is too old to move! When we receive notice I will only have 45 days to move....SO --I am S___OuttaLuck! -- I may have to move to an efficiencty apt and give up gardening since I cannot afford to buy again. And I don't relish moving again since it has only been 4 months since this move which about did me in physically (and mentally I think!) and I invested too much money on fixing it to my liking with an additional shed, pergola, gazebo, barn, carport and landscaping--none of the improvements can be taken with me. I try to keep positive but it is difficult right now --may have lots of plants to offer for my gardening friends soon!

That stinks! Did they give you any indication that the property would be going on the market when you moved in? It just seems like they've probably been considering it prior to your move there and they just never disclosed it. They might not be able to find a buyer anyway in this market. Is the area where you are located near the water? If not I doubt they'll have a buyer anytime soon unless they are just looking to dump the property. I hope for your sake that they don't sell it in the near future.

    Linda,
I am so sorry to hear you might have to move again, thats
just not right, I hope they dont sell and you wont have to
move again, you would think they would have to disclose
    information like that.
    Best wishes,
    Karen

Oh man, that does stink. I sure hope you'll be able to find something that will work for you and allow you to take your plants with you. Moving is stressful and exhausting. I also think it stinks that they did not disclose this before you made a decision to move to your current location. it looks like they should be liable for your moving expenses or something. Best of luck and please keep us posted.

I hate moving. My heart is breaking for you..Maybe nobody will buy it..If they do I Pray the perfect place will just drop in your lap.. If you have to get rid of your plants.. when you find somewhere I will do my best to help you fill your space back up with all of the plants you love..

So sorry to hear that Linda. If it does sell hopefully they will leave it like it is and just change ownership and you can stay. I am so sorry for you. Let us know and we will all do what we can to help.

I agree with everyone, and hope like Kristy said, that the new owner decides to leave things as is, and you can stay. That whole situation really sux. I am so sorry. Maybe your son can take your plants for you if need be? Being it's only been 4 months, that just doesnt seem right. Do you have some kind of lease or something?
    ((hugs))

This is horrible. I also think they should be liable for moving expenses. If you have to move I would also love to help you replenish things you might lose. Cindy

How sad, can you sell those items to recoup? I'd have a moving sale and you dig up the plants to take. How sad.

Thank you all for your support. I may hire a lawyer to handle this. No one in the park has had a lease since the new owners took over 2 years ago. They are talking about selling to developers, which I don't know whether they can do since this is a "Senior" mobile home community and may fall under state guidelines. I will have a lawyer research the legalities. In the meantime, keep me in your prayers

Oh Gosh,Linda I am so sorry I do hope there is some law to protect you,God Bless, you will be in our prayers,Hugs Bonnie

DAMN! What are you going to do? I don't think you all realize the problem she is in! If I get this right Linda has bought the "mobile home" like I have, and it is too old to move. If I get this right the park is no longer going to be a park, so...........
Linda has to move it off, but cannot. That make her investment a total loss! Is this what is happening, Linda?

I am so so sorry for you. I know if they sold my park I would be in the exact situation.
I hope you have some recourse, and can recoup some of your losses, please try to sell it at least for something.

    Anything I can do?

Linda, I am so sorry. It doesn't seem as though they should be able to do that! I will keep you in my Prayers too. I know that God will work things out for your good. Linda

Barry--you hit the nail on the head! The talk has been that they are going to sell to a developer so he can build the quickie cracker jack box houses to sell for big bucks!
My situations is that I also put a 10' X 20' covered deck on the front with rails, a 10 X 12 Barn, a 10 x 12 shed, and it has a gazebo, pergola, 10' X 20' carport and they are ALL cemented in or otherwise immoveable! I will be taking about a $45,000 loss on this whole deal and they only have to give me $1,500 to get gone. I have been looking at a few possible places to move today, but have to figure out how I can financially do this, especially since I am still out of work (which probably is a good thing with the impending move soon) but will be a drawback in trying to finance anything and some rentals require credit checks etc. I am keeping my chin up and praying for guidance at this point. I looked at one place today that was unique! It was an original 1958 mobile home that they added onto and it is really nice with a 100 X 80 lot that would be MY land! Trying now to figure out how I might be able to swing this. It is 1250 sq ft with a concrete garage and totally fenced. Need MAJOR landscaping and pulling out yucky palmettos, boxwoods and half dead azaleas.
Please keep me in your prayers - I know one door does not close without another opening but I have to have a "pity party" when one slams in my face. I'll keep positive and smiling with the help of all my friends.
    Thank you everyone...Hugs

    Linda,
I am sorry to hear of this problem with your home. You have put so much hard work into your place, and it looked amazing when I was there. I also will say a prayer for you and your situation.
IF you should have to move, hopefully it will be somewhere you can have all of your plants.

Linda did you get your package?

    Linda

I'm sorry to hear of your impending move - again! Wow! I know EXACTLY how you must be feeling. But things have a way of working out - you may be happier in the long run! Hope things go well for you! :)

Linda, I pray that the developer either will back out or he/she will keep the property as is. Then, if at all possible, try to make the move to a place that will really be yours. Continue to keep your chin up and pray for guidance.

I found one place I liked and put an offer on it--will wait and see if they accept the offer. The yard is smaller than I would like but it is definitely do-able.
Will wait and see what they decide. If it is meant to be it will happen.
    Linda

Linda my fingers and toes are crossed for you! That you find THE place and get it that you can stay as long as YOU decide to stay there. Good luck!!
Sending you a BIG HUG to let you know that I am with you and that you are not alone.
    Luzia

Thank you Luzia! They did turn down my offer, which I had a feeling they would. I am planning on staying here for awhile and if the place is sold I will fight it BIG TIME since it IS a Senior Citizen community which has state regulations. I'll bring in the big guns! hehe! I have the name of a lawyer now that I can call if it resorts to that. In the meantime I will keep looking for something that has it's own land. Going to get in the yard today and take care of some of the things I have been neglecting. Going to have to find a job SOON!
    Linda

Go for it! I am sure if you all team up this can be forestalled.
It is usual;ly much harder to move people with just one 45 day notice! Good Luck.

Sorry to hear about your having to move. That really sucks.
Another thing you could do is talk with a senior citizens rights group and if you are being wronged, maybe even the press. You could post this in the Florida Conversations forum too because there are probably some seniors there that are familiar with FL law and may have had a similar type of experience or know someone else who has.
