The only problem is keeping it cool lol Have always wanted to have a cool GH but have never found a way even for a small one. Have tried several methods but none worth repeating as they didn't work except when it wasn't hot lol. Hope you get some interesting answers . gary

You could grow highlanders in a terrarium for a while. For those that need a temperature change and higher humidity, use a terrarium with a temperature control, like what you would use with reptiles, except try to find one that can drop the temperature down to 50-60 degrees at night and keep the temperatures up to about 80 by day. That would probably do the trick. After a couple years you will need to trim the plant or it might outgrow the terrarium. Some Nepenthes get over 20-40 feet long.

As a more work intensive alternative, you would need to provide a terarium Nepenthes with frozen water bottles at night and add enough to take the temperatures down to the plant's individual needs, usually 50-60 degrees for most of the one's that need the temp change. That would require you to remember to keep bottles of water in the freezer by day and place them in the terrarium by night every time.

In the terrarium, you could just mix up Nepenthes soil and plant the Nepenthes in the terrarium stright, but you would need to ensure drainage in the bottom. It would be better to just place a potted plant in the terrarium on a raised surface and let excess water drain into the terrarium as extra humidity. That will keep the plant pot from sitting in water, reducing root rot, and keep the terrarium humid while making cleanup and plant care easier.

ok, i was wondering what speices of nepenthes is the easiest, i have terariums with high humidity or i could grow them outside. I live in the southernest city in alabama and temps outside usally stay in the 80s or 90s sometimes reaching 100.thanks
