Where to buy Heliamphora varieties

Does any one knows good places to buy Heliamphoras?

I have been looking all over the net and have not found much. Many places have just a few species and they are out of stock.

Other places have some but the price is uncertain and the plants might not even be for sale. I send them e-mails and no one answers.

Hope some one can help.

There is only one place that offers a broad selection. Be sure to click on the Shop link.

Here is a link that might be useful: Wistuba

Yes, I know that one, but they do not appear to answer emails. I will send them another and see if they answer.

    Thanks

I have also been combing the web for places to buy other types of Heliamphora.

I have a Heterodoxa, a Minor, and a Heterodoxa x Minor that are all doing well in my fluorescently lit indoor terrarium. So, I have begun to wonder which other varieties I can buy, and which are small enough (less than 8 inches tall) for my set up. Any suggestions of related species and where I might buy them?

I bought all 3 of my Heliamphora plants from Sarracenia Northwest, and I'm very happy with them. They are likely to have more in the next few months.

Regarding Wistuba, do you know if he is in Germany? By coincidence I will be in Berlin next month, and I seem to remember that a famous Heliamphora grower is located there.

Yes, however, I do not know If his nursery is a walk in. I think you might have to order from his website.

I have also been e-mailing Equilibrio Carnivorous Plants.

I think they might be on a long vacation because I have sent them about 4 emails, and they have not answered.

For some reason Heliamphoras are Our of Stock every where.

about the only place is on eBay. currently there are 3 heterdoxa x minor hybrids up for auction-not cheap!

I know, I have been watching the bids for a while.

    Byron,

Which varieties of heliamphora are you currently growing?

My heliamphora heterodoxa x minor was expensive, but I absolutely love watching it make new large traps. Can you recommend any other varieties that would also do well in a terrarium under fluorescent lights?

The only one I have is the Heliamphora Heterodoxa x Minor. But I ordered a few different varieties from Dr. Wistuba in Germany.

Which kinds did you order from Wistuba? I'd be extremely interested to hear about your experiences once they arrive. The H. Minor Burgundy Black looks like something I'm going to want to go for. I am a bit concerned about how to maintain growing conditions for some of the others (e.g. the Lowland helios).

Did Wistuba finally answer your emails?

    Byron,

Thanks for pointing me toward Wistuba's website. After much consideration, I ordered 5 different heliamphora varieties from him tonight. I will be very excited to see the actual plants when they arrive. Let me know how it works out for you.

Yes, I would love the Burgundy Black as well.

You have to be patient when ordering from him. He probably takes care of a lot of orders, and they are done at a first come first serve terms.

Does any one knows if Equilibrio Carnivorous Plants is still in business. They have not answered any of my emails, and on the website the last time it was updated was in 2007.

Is this the website you are talking about? It shows a copyright of 2010

Then, I have no idea why they are not answering e-mails.

They also have the following message:

"We are now accepting orders for Spring/Summer 2009. Check the site again for daily changes. Thank you."

    Not 2010

    I wish they had a 1-800 number.
