Do you have yours planted in a pot? And if so did you bring it inside or leave it out for the winter? Just wondered cause I have just purchased one myself and I am really not sure if I should bring her inside over winter. Mine is in a pot and Im in VAncouver B.C.area. By the way - beautiful shot! I'm in USDA zone 5 here...-30 to-35ºF It overwintered being planted outside on a birdhouse post, climbing chicken wire. The first winter I wondered if it'd make it but it did and has done so for two winters in a row now. The base has probably thee inches of mulch to help it summer and winter. It's slow to appear in the spring but does well otherwise. Glad you liked it. :)

Where I live we don't have a wide choice of clematis because of the heat. So I really enjoy everyones pictures.

mikeandbarb - I'm in the DFW area too, and I'm finding that clematis do well here, despite the heat. I always plant them to grow up through a rose or shrub, or make sure to plant something in front of them to shade the roots. Right now, HD & Lowe's have lots of small pots of clematis, which are the ones I currently have that I bought last year. I just placed an order from Silver Star Nursery for four more.

I got one like this yesterday but it says it has been adapted to be indoors. I have never had a clematis before. Does anyone know anything about the indoor one? Thank you .

What size pot do you use for one plant please? And does it need training at all?
