Is anyone near Raleigh putting in their tomatoes this weekend? National weather service indicates the lowest night time temps will dip as low as 41 degrees F Saturday night, then warming up to no less than 47 F until Tuesday night. I know tomatoes hate nights cooler than 50 F, but they're getting bigger and I'm running out of room for them. I have raised beds (should warm up quicker) and wall-o-waters that have been up since Wednesday. I'm hoping the W-O-W's have warmed the soil a bit and will keep the plants above 50 F. Plus, I'm thinking of putting plastic flower pots over the top of the W-O-W's to minimize heat loss via convection. What say you? Should I try to push the season or keep these inside another week? FWIW, I'm in the third day of hardening them off. Thought it would be a good idea with all the nice weather lately.
