I bought my 'Emilia Plater' from Plant Delights several years ago, but they are not currently selling it.

I have not purchased from them before, but Digging Dog Nursery in California has it listed in the online catalog.

It is also listed in Hummingbird Farms online catalog for 2010. They are located in Maine, and they have not yet updated their clematis list for 2011. I did send them an e-mail last week asking if they had a clematis variety not listed in their catalog, and Cindy replied quickly. I have never purchased from them before either.

Thank you Kathy for the helpful information. I emailed Hummingbird Farms and am waiting to hear back from them. I was more interested in them because they had serveral clematis on my wish list. They didn't show any prices, except for shipping. Thanks again for your help.

I never even noticed that the prices are not posted - perhaps they will put in the prices when they update for 2011. I know how disappointing it is to not be able to find a variety that you really want. Let me know if you are successful in finding Emilia Plater. I do not think she will disappoint you.

Last spring when I bought EP from Hummingbird it was $16.99, as were all the other clematis I got there. Their plants arrived healthy and well-packed and thrived last summer. I would definitely buy from them again (and expect to when they get their list up for this year. I am kind of anxious to see what they have, and wish their schedule of posting their new list was more in keeping with other online clematis nurseries - my only complaint.) They have great customer service with prompt email responses.

I just looked on Hummingbird Farms updated website and they no long have Emilia Plater or Stolwijk Gold Clematis (the two I really wanted) available. I checked into Digging Dog Nursery, but for two clems the shipping and handling is $29.90! So, I guess I'm back to square one on my search for Emilia Plater. It is a little discouraging...

Mercy, although it does not grow as tall, 'Prince Charles' is a very good substitute for 'Emilia Plater'. I have both varieties and have a bit of a preference for the blooms of PC ... both clems are real bloom machines!

pmermakov: Perhaps you can contact Hummingbird Farm via email and see if they will be adding those two again or if they can recommend another supplier. Can't hurt to ask. Just a thought.

Hi, I justed wanted to update everyone on my search for Emilia Plater. A member here on this forum very kindly offered to give me a piece of her Emilia Plater in exchange for some of my daylilies. I am so happy about the trade and can't wait until the weather warms up! Currently, we have about a foot of snow on the ground outside. Come spring quickly!!
