Brian's site (above) is the growing-clematis-from-seed web bible, so do look through it. All the tanguticas bloom quickly from seed. This group includes Radar Love, but also Bill McKenzie, Helios, etc.

my only problem with the site for seed germination rates is I would like to see the common names along side of the latin. otherwise, extremally informative.

Flowerchild, with very few exceptions, clematis don't have common names - they are known either by their species designation, species plus cultivar for named varieties or in the case of hybrids, just by their cultivar name. LFH stands for large flowering hybrid and you'll notice a lot of these are listed simply as "mix". That's because it is very rare to get a hybrid anything to come true from seed. Generally the only way you can guarantee that is through asexual propagation - cuttings or layerings. But you can still get some very nice vines from seed with these - that's where many of the new intros come from, although with a bit more control than just simple seed collection :-)
