Earwig control

I am new to this forum but have been a long time clematis grower. I have 10 plants. I have a Jackmania that is over 25yr old & blooms each year with 100s of blooms which covers the railing on a 20ft raised deck. Each year I have been haveing more problems with earwigs eating the blooms off till it has gotten out of hand & I need some good advice on the best way to control them. I have tried many types of commercial insecticide sprays that has had very little effect.I have heard traps work well but not sure which ones to try. I hope an expert here can advise me on the best way.
