Over 3 summers, I have watched a Comtess de Bouchard, flower beautifully and by mid-summer start getting brown shriveled leaves which drop off the vine. I am ready to give up with this one and try another in its place. The question is the soil. Will it be a problem to plant the replacement in the same place. This is on one side of an arbor so I would like to have another clematis there. Please advise.
