You can just spray a few times with a fungiside. Rust is not serious and should be relatively easy to cure like daylily rust. I do not believe brutal treatment is relly neccesary.

You could try a handful of corn meal, &/or cornstarch, stirred in a bucket of water. Wait 20 minutes, stir it, let the grains settle a minute, then use some to water the plant. It's good on rust, blackspot, and most other fungi.
You could try to gently tug, the yellowed leaves, to see if they will come off. Check for bugs too, with a magnifying glass, got mealies? Rust seems to go more, for unhappy plants, so how are it's cultural conditions, is it in too much sun?
Look out, it stains paint, and it's basically the same as corn based, pre/emergent weed killer, so avoid seed areas.

You know I love these kitchen cures that actually work, what a hoot! For some reason my GW search on this isn't coming up, but it's on other threads. It worked for me on roses, phlox, and a fig.
Do you have a pup, to try outside this spring?

I had something that looked like rust, but was a reaction to some Orthonex that I sprayed on the clivias for scale. It was unsightly for a while, but the browned tips eventually dried and it doesn't look too bad. I will try an oil spray next time!

Why oil? Somehow oil doesn't sound clivia friendly. That sounds like it might trap moisture IN the plant and risk problems? :>
The plant seems to tolerate treatments better if it has acclimated outside, in it's pot.
