jon, care to share some information with a curious Clivia newbie ?

I'm sorry that I have no experience about your situation, but could you tell me a little about how you "hatched" your Clivia seeds ? I'm very tempted to purchase some and have a go at it, however I'm intrigued about what I see in your picture. Do you not bury Clivia seeds ? Do you lay them on top of the soil ?

Any information you feel like sharing would be really appreciated.

I hope someone has some answers for you, this forum seems woefully under viewed.

Hmm, maybe a few things I will do differently next time.
1) not peel the skin off the seed because inevitably some root tips get damaged.
2) root tips always planted up.

Two biggest things to worry about is damaging the root tip and rot I would think.

one of my two sprouting seeds has two nodes instead of one... I'll post pics soon...

Thanks so much for these last two pictures. I have two seeds with nice long fat roots and I am waiting for the leaves. Now I know what exactly to look for. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.
