We post pictures here as well rosefolly. The first one reminds me of Asao and the second one could be Ramona. The color looks off to me but it could just be an artifact of the backlighting.

I agree the first one does look like my clematis "Asao" and I don't think the second one is "Ramona"..the color is just too pinkish looking to me...Jeanne

Jeanne, I think the color in the one that might or might not be Ramona is a bit pinker on my camera than it really is in the garden. If it were a bit more violet and a bit less pink, would you say Ramona is correct? Because that is how it looks to me.

Rosefolly...here are a few of my Clematis "Ramona" for you to see...it's really a bluish colour with a lavender cast to it..so hard to describe...notice the bar,anthers and connectives...Jeanne

Jeanne, mine looks very much like the one in your first picture. My camera must be adding a pink note to the pictures. I think mine must be Ramona, unless there is another very common kind that resembles Ramona closely.

That leaves the white one and the dark purple one as mysteries.

The white one might be Gillian Blades and the purple one might be Polish spirit. Just guesses.

FlowerFan2, I do grow Polish Spirit elsewhere, but this is not it. Not quite so vigorous, and blooms at a different time. Thanks for the attempt, though.

Still not convinced that it is not Ramona. Try and take another picture Rosefolly where the clematis is not backlit like it is in your original picture so we can get a better read on the color.

The "white" one looks like Claire de Lune to me. Anyone else think so?

Doesn't look like Ramona to me either.

The white one does look like Gillian Blades, I've never grown Claire de Lune so I don't know about her.

I've taken some evening pictures as opposed to the morning pictures I took before and I'm still not getting accurate color. Here is the one that may not be Ramona, only picture the color a light pinkish purple, not the cool pink of the picture.

Here is the purple one that is not Polish Spirit, only it is a deep, rich red violet. They fade after opening. The color of the new dark one in the background is the color I see for the ones that have been open for a while, and the newly opened ones are much darker yet. I hope this makes sense.

Definitely not Ramona. The color is still off and the sepals are way too pointed to be her.

Jeanne, no, I don't think so. The petals of mine are narrower and pointier, and the color is much more in the purple range. It is a light purple with pink undertones, not a pink. That is a pretty clematis, though. I tend not to buy pink clematis (Asao an exception) because I have so many pink roses in the garden already. I need a little contrast.

Could the last one be Gipsy Queen? I just posted an inquiry about that one, and it really looks like the pics I've been seeing.

Wish I knew what your pinkish NOID is - so beautiful, I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I knew what it was. But it sure doesn't look like Ramona to me. The last pic shows narrower petals and wavy edges. Ramona doesn't have that.

I may have an opportunity to go to Chalk Hill next weekend. If it works out, and if the clematis in question are still in bloom, I'll take them along to see if I can get an ID. If all this happens, I will report back.

I concur buyorsell888. Gillian Blades for the white. Claire de Lune has Red/wine anthers, not clear. In comparing pictures of my gillian Blades it is a match.

I'm not even goint to try to guess on the bluish, pupleish, pinkish ones. Many are close but as most say the camera and lighting alter the color a bit.

I believe the identity of 'Gillian Blades' for the white clematis is correct. Not only does the name sound vaguely familiar, but I was going through a page with pictures of over a hundred white clematis, and this one leapt out at me immediately, I will consider that one to be settled. Thank you!

Dear kind people -- I promised to get back to you after the trip to Chalk Hill. It turned out that we were not able to go after all. I did stop in at a Petaluma nursery called Cottage Garden. They had a large selection of clematis, none exactly right, though a couple came close. It's still a mystery.

Thanks anyway for all your help. If I ever find out, I'll post the solution to the puzzle.
