You can't go wrong with the clematis varieties you've selected! I also have Barbara Harrington and Comtesse de Bouchard planted near to one another and think they'll look great :)

Comtesse de Bouchaud is so beautiful. It looks almost silvery in my garden. Barbara Harrington is on my want list - I've heard so many good things about it.

I'm not impressed with Barbara Harrington but she isn't in the best of soil. She is still scraggly after more than five years...and she gets mildew

Dig her up, wash off all the bad soil, and replant her deeper in good soil :)

If only I could find her a place with better conditions but I'm all out of room in the good spots.

If I did not try to garden with the neighbor's tree roots I would have to give up almost half my planting space.

Have you tried planting in large pots buried in the ground?
