Looks like Clematis "H.F.Young" to me..

Thanks Jeanne. The flower form does look very much like H.F. Young, but I have an HFY in the same flower bed and the colors aren't even close. The NOID is blue/purple, unfortunately,the camera failed to pick up the true color. There is no other color on the sepals, just a slight variation of the purple in the veining and very light cream color anthers.

Yep, that is why I don't even try guessing the identity of those type II bluey-purples. There are so many and the pictures may not reflect the true colors which complicates the matter.

So true Miguel..and if someone's camera doesn't take true to life colour then that makes it even harder..the only other one I can think of is clematis "Rhapsody"....are the filaments bluish towards the base?...Jeanne

Well, the Rhapsody looks just like mine, except the blooms on mine have 8 tepals. Everything else looks the same, (even the back side of the tepal), so could it still be Rhapsody?
