Remember that the BW toxin is present in the bud (highly toxic) hulls, shells, bark and leaves. Try to keep your pots free of these and you will probably have very good luck.
Impatiens are resistant to the toxin. I can testify to this. They look good in pots, but keep them watered. Also, tuberous begonias are on the tolerant list.
I will be reporting later this summer on hybrid musk roses and their tolerance to the BW toxin. I am planting 16 this spring.

Good luck with the hybrid musks -- I'll be watching for your posts! I'm hoping to get to the corner of my yard where I want to plant a rose by fall... (we'll see if that actually happens!:-)

Thanks for the info on the impatiens. Thats great info -- I'm going to need to fill in the area around the tree with annuals once I clear out the debris this spring (and get rid of the rest of the weeds!)

The strongest jugulone is produced from the roots of the walnut tree. As long as you keep your containers clean from the deebre (leaves, twigs, nuts) you should be fine with anything that will grow in containers, Taking into concideration the light/water needs of the plant and the loaction and your ability to provide water.

I have all of my houseplants outside under a black walnut tree and they have been there for months and they are doing great. I have ivy, wandering jew, aloe vera, jade plants, airplane plants, and several cactus and they are doing great.
