No, none of the evergreen Clems bloom in summer nor for a long period of time.

Some Clems bloom more than once a year and some bloom for a long time but none bloom all summer like annuals.

The new patio clematis are supposed to bloom all summer. I just bought mine last fall so I can't tell you if it is true. Mine already have flower buds though.

The Clems that bloom the longest for me are Ville de Lyon which blooms almost all summer. Polish Spirit and Multi Blue both bloom for about 2 months in my yard. All are in full sun. The President goes for a long time also & it is in afternoon shade. I do fertilize after each flush of flowering is over & that may be what helps them bloom so long. I also must use bonemeal the first of spring to get the great blooms. I have 7 others which do good but the first 3 I mentioned give me by far the longest bloom year after year.

'Daniel Deronda' blooms a long time for me. 'Ville de Lyon' has been a disapointment.

Petit Faucon is a virtual blooming machine for me. It has for the past few years bloomed from April until August for me. I have given it a whack back in August, fertilized it, and it has rebloomed until frost did it in.

I concur with Miguel...I think his pics is the reason I bought "Petite Faucon" and she has bloomed all season but is an Integrifolia ..this is year 3 for her...so I am waiting to see how big she will get..always has blooms...to get constant blooms through out the season you should plant several different varieties..Jeanne

Mine bloomed for a short time and only a few blooms. I'm hoping that will change as it matures.

C. Durandii blooms spring through frost for me. It's an herbaceous (not vining) one, but it looks great in an obelisk.

Wanda, I have Durandii and it blooms off and on all summer but with nothing like the full intensity that Petit Faucon does. I think what this and other postings on clematis forums show is that what does well in one garden may not do the same in another garden. The only real way to figure out what does well or doesn't is to try it.
