I have bronze fennel in my butterfly garden where I also planted pineapple sage, nepeta, salvia 'Navajo Red', crocosmia 'Lucifer', mixed colors of asclepias, coneflowers (the new orange 'Sundown' and 'Sunset' colors), agastache 'blue fortune', hypericum shrubs, tall verbena, verbena 'Homestead Purple', coreopsis 'Creme Brulee', a miscanthus 'Cosmopolitan', clumping bamboo and a chaste tree.

My garden is newly planted, so the fennel is only about 1' tall right now and just beginning to add to the garden. I should have mixed it in among the orange flowers instead of putting it at the back of the border. It would have stood out much better, I think.
