I've read that for a Group 2 (Niobe) that I should cut it back to an axial bud, only I don't see 'axial bud' engraved anywhere on the plant pointing me to it. So, my question is should I do that and what is an axial bud? I planted it last fall(it was a very tiny thing)and it was brown and crunchy up until a week or so ago and it's starting to look green and happy, so I want to make sure I do the right thing. Thanks for any help.

Oh! And I just received a Viola and Venosa Violacea from Chalk Hill which have huge roots compared to the Niobe. And thanks to all of you I've been lurking around KoiGardenclub as well making a list....sigh....the obsession begins...
