Companion plants for a list of very popular (or very difficult) plants
beneficial combinations (not only for pest control but also as a support or shade for the roots or something similar)
Groundcover companions

Companion planting for climbing roses (ie vines etc) Note: Most people would suggest clematis, however these mostly require the roots to be kept cool, so they are not a good suggestion for warm climates. Something else would need to be reccommended here.

I am also interested in texture combinations, like white David phlox and wrinkley horehound leaves. I like to combine herbs with perenials. I have also read that contrasts in form is also a consideration -- spikey and mounded. Has anyone been able to effectively add any vegetables to their perennail beds. Any info would be appreciated.

I think a FAQ on color theory would be useful :-) Also something on year-round interest although that might fall under landscape design.

Groundcover companions (ie. what plants have equal vigor and won't get smothered out?).

I'm afraid to use groundcovers.

Almost a year after this thread started, and still no FAQ.... Digging through some of the old threads, I saw a couple of people bombarded with requests to e-mail their homemade lists and charts for companion planting. I'd suggest posting one or two good ones under FAQ. They seem in high demand.

Maybe a list of what not to plant together ?????? Like shapes..... colors..... by vote...... garden things etc.
