why you should order from Silver Star

So I will first admit, I am addicted to Clems.. I have just started to collect and I think my wish list is to obtain 50 new this year.. Just don't tell my DH..

So this is the first time that I have ordered from Silver Star, and I will certainly be back...My plants arrived today carefully package and wrapped, and the root systems are HUGE.. I couldn't believe it. These are the best looking clems I have ever ordered. I have ordered from BW and CH and I was happy with those, but these are awesome.

plant size, I added the trellis support.

I don't think that I am even going to plant these up in baby beds. I think that I have enough time to put them in the ground with some compost and rose fert. and I think they will be fine..

My intentions are to plant the Anna and the bourbon together. Purple spider I think I may run along the deck bottom, and lemon chiifon in some dappled shade to try to keep her yellow.

Oh I am so excited...

these clematis look beautiful. Is Silver Star an on-line nursery? I tried to find it but haven't had any luck. Can you post their url?

1, ARGH, I can't believe you got your hands on a Purple Spider. A bunch of those were already starting to bloom when I was there last month and they are just wild. I think they were all "taken" at that point (maybe she got more?).

I ordered two and they root balls were huge. I planted them right before the big freeze,and they survived! Both are growing strong. I hope to have blooms soon.

Debbie must have been very busy. I just got my Triternata Rubromarginata yesterday too. Mine looks very good as well!

Debbie is extremely skilled with plants especially clematis and you (in the States) are very lucky to have her as a source (is all I can say)! How often do you see roots like that???

I have ordered several plants from Debbie @ Silver Star. I think she has some of the best I have ever purchased. Usually very large root balls----& that is what counts most. Her freight prices are the lowest I have found. Super gal with great plants.

Debbie is great! I just received my two clematis that I ordered from her - 'Abundance' and 'Mrs Cholmondeley'. The rootballs were huge and the plants were well packaged. This is my second time ordering from her and I'm very pleased!

Very cute Purple Spider! I have been contemplating that one for a couple of years now. Wish I had ordered it. Let us know how it does. Maybe a pic in full bloom later on.
Congrats on your great new plants, and good luck with your plan.

BTW, I don't know if anyone else besides me has been delaying their Silver Star order till the sale, but my luck just ran out. One of the plants I really needed just sold out yesterday!!! Probably best to wait only if you're looking for extras you really don't need.

I have ordered from Debbie since she opened her nursery and have even supplied pictures for her to use on her website (Tie Dye is the latest picture that was supplied). Her plants are huge with great root systems.

Robin, you learned a great lesson. Never wait to order clematis. If you really want a specific variety, it is best to order as soon as the nursery posts their updated lists either in late winter or early fall. Waiting to catch something on sale is a great way to lose your chance to purchase it!

I just ordered from Silver Star, first time, but she sounds great! I ordered 2 Westplatte, hopefully they will climb up my arbor. Any easy directions on planting these? This is my first clematis purchase!
