Help! Weed wacked clem, hopeless?
My son came too close to base of trellis w/weed wacker and half dozen or so vines got cut 4-6" from ground.
After mourning for an hour, I realized I'd have nothing to lose by dipping each cut end in root hormone (Schultz TakeRoot) and building up a mound of soil to cover the cut ends, then gently watering. Fortunately it's an overcast day, and within a few hours it began to rain.
Wondered if anyone out in clematis land has experienced a similar fate, and does this clem stand a prayer?
