Plus, you should also expect some losses when you move a plant from one place to another, and/or when you transplant.

If sited properly, and if given appropriate follow-up care, the tree should be fine after it establishes a sturdy root system at the new site.

If the tree is very immature,its a bad idea to try to grow any lemons anyway.If you do ,it will stunt the growth of the tree.Its a harsh reality,its best to remove fruitlets for the first 3 years of growth,All of them!! you will be rewarded with a stronger canopy/root system which will then be able to hold fruit better.Even then,you should thin the majority of fruit,spacing the fruits 6 inches apart(thin at least 1/3 of flowers or even 1/2).That way you will get quality fruits of good size.If you let the tree produce too many fruits,they will be small and inferior and could result in the following year,the tree not cropping at all or not much! Fruits can also go yellow and drop when small from being too wet.Feed your tree spring and autumn,remove flowers and in time,you will be away.Mulch with lawn clippings but not against trunk.I find this is great in combination with granular ferts.Go light on ferts while tree is young.Cheers

Your lemon tree may be getting scales which are laid by tiny insects. Spray tree with seven dust and pick off scales. Also, small lemons will turn yellow and drop if you already have green lemons because it cannot produce that many. It self eliminates too many.
