It is highly unlikely you will have success with just snipping a stem off and putting it in soil and having it root. Most people using a rooting hormone on the stem to facilitate rooting. You generally also want to reduce the number of leaves on the stem to reduce the moisture loss until the plant roots. The only real way to know however is to give it a go and see what will happen.
