Nelly Moser or Lincoln Star? I don't know these LFH very well.

A friend thought it could be Dr. Ruppel. That seems close but I guess I should take a flower with me to a nursery that sells these.

Fireworks? It has a huge flower, 6-8inches with intense coloring that doesn't fade in full sun.

There are many that color. I have Hania and Piilu which are both that color. Hania has never semi doubled though Piilu sure does.

How big across are those blooms?

Dr. Ruppel and Carnaby are also that color.

I saw two more today at a plant sale that were that color that weren't mentioned already in this thread. I don't remember their names now though. There are so many that color.

OK, I will just enjoy the flowers and unless I see a properly labeled exact match in flower at a nursery, I won't try to label my plant.

I bought several Clematis for my mother. Here's a contrast of what was labeled 'Nelly Moser'( on the right) and my plant.

While visiting a neighbor last week, I noticed her Clematis ( unlabeled) is exactly the same as mine.
The flowers are dark and seem very much like 'Dr. Ruppel' photos.

Dr. Ruppel is very common and is darker than Nelly. Nelly fades badly in full sun too.

Looks like Clematis "Dr. Ruppel" to me..and that does look like a faded "Nelly Moser"...Jeanne
