Magnificent! I admire the way you've succeeded in growing large vines in what look like relatively small pots. How big are these pots? About 16 inch / 40 cm diameter? At what age do you put the clematis in the ground? Does it depend on how much space you have available as most of us have more plants than space!

I'm a beginner with baby clems in pots & I haven't found the right place in the garden for them yet. Containers are an interest of mine right now. Thanks!

River_crossroads,I keep all new clematis in pots during the first year. Like to have them around me on the balcony when I drink my coffee. In my experience, 12" is enough. In march plant them in the garden and buy several more.
Rebecca, Westerplatte and Pr.Alexandra are second year in pots because I was not ready to plant them - actually in cheap containers used for some chemicals - d16"/L24"
