That is cool! I had 1 bloom on Elsa Spath that had 1 petal do that at the very tip, but nothing like that. Cold weather while it was in bud is what I was contributing it to. I haven't seen any others do it though.

It's not uncommon at all really but neat to see...Lala is right..flucuation of weather..cold...can cause the buds to open up to look like that...Jeanne

This phenomenon scared me the fist time I saw it. The next year the plant was just fine.

My Daniel Deronda has done that too. It is no big deal. It doesn't have a disease or anything like that.

It was kinds cool. Didn't think it had a disease but knew it wasn't common.

Yes we have had cool weather here in Southern Ontario. The nights are still going into the single digits. I am quite tired of it. I want to fill the greenhouse with my ammies!

We had frost just after the May 24 weekend which is our typical plant your veggies and annuals without risk. HAH! Not likely this year. Everything is out of wack!
