Multi-Blue!

Great, thank you! All of the photos I've seen look different and I was confused by the 8 tepals, the dark purple and not blue color, and no doubling but I guess this is one chameleon of a clematis.

I think I'm going to enjoy this one. I have a place for it near my baby pink Bubble Bath rose which it can scramble up. I think Multi Blue is an early bloomer so the two blooming together in May will look nice.

In my yard (zone 7a), it blooms relatively early, after the Alpina Willy, Asao and HF Young, sometime in early May, for its first flush of blooms.
It is still flowering right now, performing better than its parent, the 'President'
Its colors here have ranged from slightly washed out purple to deep purple blue to nice deep blue (almost like 'Rhapsody'). I guess it depends on whether or not the flowers are shaded by the nearby Japanese maple.
It is not a difficult clematis to grow--I like it a lot.
