You're right, especially if the colour is REALLY important but Prince Charles is one of my favorites. You did get a lovely "substitute"!

Prince Charles is great--but try ordering Madame Edouard Andre again. She's a good one too!

I bought Niobe at my garden center this spring. She is blooming a pastel mauve pink--obviously not Niobe! Have no idea what she is--but she doesn't look too bad where I planted her. But I'd rather have Niobe.

Prince Charles is a beaut', but if you can, you should inform whoever you bought it from that it was mislabeled, without any expectations. If they make right, you're all the better for it, and even if they don't, they may be more careful about their labeling practices.

Yes, I agree Prince Charles is a lovely Clematis.If I remember correctly I bought it a supermarket where they set up temporary tents in the summer with plants.
