gm folks,

i will be heading to fort lauderdale this weekend plant shopping . we'll be going to a show and several nurseries .

is anyone looking for special plants that i may see in this area ? let me know and i will try to find them for you .

i would need a pic or a link to the plant you are looking for . i would hate to get you the wrong one . i will pack them while i'm down and jeri will ship on monday .

poor jeri , i make her do all the driving.lol but, we truly do have fun at these shows and nurseries . if anyone is in the area you'd be welcome to join us .

i wish i could somehow link the shows live , that way you could see what you are getting . any suggestions ?

happy gardening!

Can you do me a favor though please Eddie, and if you see any, just let me know how the prices are? No biggie if you can't. Just wanna know what he going rate is, so when I DO get one, I don't get jipped. thank you :)

What a very nice offer. I don't need anything but appreciate your very generous offer. I wish so badly I could attend. How fun that would be.

I spent waaaayy too much on tropical fruit trees for my greenhouse this summer and now I need to keep my hands out of my purse for awhile.

I purchased a jade vine and the thing was sent as a small cutting. I was so bummed. It does not appear to be doing well and I'm afraid I may be losing it. So, I will need to save my money for another one this spring. ha ha. They are expensive.

Daniella, i read about this vine , wow . its a continous bloomer and doesn't go dormant . wow

TJ , i have a buddy in fort luaderdale that has a huge jade vine . it covers an abor in frount of his house . tons of turquoise flowers , i feel in love with it .

Denise, i use to live on bradenton beach . the end that meets long boat key . i really miss that area. 1 of the few places that felt like home .

    knotz,

Sure wish you lived closer. I dug up and threw away a ton (literally -- they're very heavy!) of basjoos this Fall. I can't give them away! They're too invasive for several spots in my garden so I'm tossing. Even the smallest pups are quite heavy and cost a lot for shipping. They're becoming very common though, so I'll bet you can find some up in PNW. They seem to do well with cooler temps.

    Hi Eddie

I live in Palm Beach Gardens. About an hour from Ft. Lauderdale. Don't think I can make it down this weekend, with all that I have to do around here. Curious about what show you are going to though, and where you are coming from. Have a fun trip.

    bob,
its at Heathcoat Botanical Gardens in Fort Pierce . i will be coming from winston-salem nc , and staying in a small town outside of west palm beach , stuart .

Ah... Ft. Pierce. That's about an hour north... Stuart, about 1/2 hour. I've never been to Heathcote. I missed the fall plant sale at the Mounts Botanical Garden, in West Palm, as I was traveling for business. Bummer. If I find the time, maybe I will head up to the Garden Festival, for a quick look around. Right now, that seems unlikely. How did you learn of the garden and the festival?

Oh Eddie That sucks, I am sooo Sorry I was looking forward to hearing what you found. I tell you we just all drool over the cool plants that you have. Ive always been told the way to a mnas heart is through his belly well it seems women arnt as complicated as men make them out to be. The way to a womens heart is good Dirt, Worms, compost or even hafe dead sticks of something that they have been dying to have. LOL I do think this will be a terrible winter this year. We have already had several night below freezeing and thats just not normal for us this early. Kinda scary.I just pray I can keep the greenhouse warm. Brandy

The odd things is that we almost never get snow and had snow this morning - in November.... NOVEMBER??? What??? And the fact that Eddie was driving thru snow to get to the airport is unheard of this time of year in NC. Geez.... Eddie if you breed the purple brug, you can buy you an island in any zone you wish. ;)

Had snow in Albemarle too. It stopped about 5:30 am. Now it's cold and windy. My yard is hating life.

Eddie the important thing is that you are safe. Hey now get to work on that purple brug. rofl. You get your island faster and we our purple brug lol.
Sorry you had to miss your shopping trip.

I'm pretty bummed too. I was really looking forward to getting my prize from, and meeting, Eddie, in the flesh. Feel bad about the shopping trip too. That sounded like fun! When I talked to Eddie, last night, I was in t-shirt, getting ready to grill chicken. Didn't tell him, because I didn't want to make him feel worse about the 20 deg. weather he was having. Figured he'd find out today, how beautiful it is here. Well, Eddie... Sometime soon, I hope.

    Grilled Chicken..YUM!!!!
I bet your Gift will get there soon!! Very Sorry..LOL
He wasn't able to deliver it in person...

Ah Eddie, that's too bad. I can really sympathize with you. I think I've frozen my bum off running to my greenhouse this evening. Sadly, I had to fire up the 2nd heater in my gh.

So sorry you missed out on the wonderful plant show. I was SO looking forward to hearing all the new & exciting plants that would be coming out this year. Big bummer.

Well that really sucks hope you can get there later this winter. Maybe there will be another show sometime soon.

A few of our nights have been cool but the days are great! We BBQ'd game hens on the grill a few days ago.
DH grills and uses the smoker on a regular basis and does a great brisket. Its funny, there are eagles and buzzards here that show up and circle around every time when he is smoking the brisket (it smokes slowly all day) LOL! I told him maybe that was a hint that his food stinks...I was just kidding of course, cause it is awesome, but its still funny!

I told dh that I am gonna go tour several of the botanical gardens in S. FL in March for my bday. So we are planning to do that then and hope to look at some property then as well.
