Even if on the outside its bright orange and firm? I bought it that way, so no idea about the fruit. 20 fruit and not one had a drop of juice in it. Was sooo sad. Wanted to make a dressing out of hte juice.

Either they were on the plant too long for that particular cultivar, or the fruit could have gotten frozen (but leaves OK) and the result was dry fruit on the inside.

New fruit should be good!

My kumquat had fruit hold on all winter. This spring it was still very juicy and tasty. It had no frost damage.

I have the same problem, beautiful fruit on the outside, mushy on the inside. It doesn't matter how soon or how late I harvest the fruit. I never had this problem growing them in California. I now live in a tropical climate. I'm wondering if the heat and humidity might be a factor? Something else? The tree is healthy and full of fruit.

If they are not spoiled enjoy them If they are spoiled de-pulp them and eat the rind for it is sweet
