OT: Post surgical whining

Sure am enjoying all your posts and photos. I have my right (dominant)arm in a sling following rotator cuff repair surgery and am very limited, not to mention uncomfortable! But there are buds on one of my brugs and I hope they won't drop. The sun is shining brightly into its east window today. Christmas cactus is in full bloom as is african violet and streptocarpella, lemon tree just finished another bloom cycle (flower petals all over the floor) and abutilon loaded with buds again. I know I'm not regular on this site but it's a pleasure to pop in and see what's going on with all your plants.

Wishing you a fast recovery and beutiful blooms....

So nice to receive all your warm wishes. Kym, are you going to get your tear fixed? Tendons don't heal by themselves, I'm told.

Tommysmommy, I know you have been through the mill. Have you started physical therapy yet? I had frozen shoulders and did physical therapy with the people who had rotator cuff surgery and we all moaned and groaned together. Colorado is my favorite state. I used to work at Keystone and Arapahoe many years ago during ski season. I finally went back and visited last year when a dog show was held in Denver. It had really changed since I was there in the 1980's. I have so many wonderful memories of such a beautiful state! What part do you live in? Take care of yourself!

tommysmommy, sounds painful, and I wish you a speedy recovery. Nothing worst than being held back by some injury :-( Hopefully your blooms will give you a comforting feeling. BTW, it doesn't matter if you aren't a regular, what matters is that you do visit. Perhaps, you might consider staying here permanently like we all have, LOL!

    Tommysmommy,
Sending warm thoughts your way for a speedy recovery. I've had shoulder problems for a few years. Orthopedic Surgeon diagnoed 'impingement syndrome'. PT & 2 cortisone shots later not much improvement. Oh well!

I might have mislead you all, I've been a member on the site since 2003, just don't get on and post for months at a time. Oh and I live in the town along the west side of Denver, just before Golden and the foothills. Snow on the peaks now.
Theresa, my first diagnosis in the 90's was impingenent syndrome too. I didn't know then what that was or what could be done, but I wish I'd had surgery then, might have avoided this tear. Just cleaning up the bone is a much speedier recovery than waiting for tendon to heal from surgery.
As for P.T., I go for my 3rd appt. today and not really looking forward to it. Ice pack's in the freezer!
Also have choral rehearsal tonight in preparation for a Christmas concert (community choir) and director will have to plan for a music stand for me. I get to solo on Silent Night this year!

TM, I hope you have a speedy recovery, and wishing you good luck on your solo! Break a leg! o not really, well, ya know, lol

TM, unfortunately no..no surgery for me..the surgeon I went to said.." If I fixed every tear...I would only do rotator surgeries"..I went thru over a year of therapy ( for other injuries also) and he said it will heal in two years...my family dr is worried too much scar tissue will form, and it will be worse..so they are watching it.

anywho....I hope your therapy went well...Ice is my best friend...LOL

Good luck with your solo...I just love Christmas music !
