Durandi, you're breaking my heart!

I planted a number of Durandi three years ago, but they're not establishing well for me. They're still a single stem, and I lost a couple as well. This week I had a flower, growing through a Limelight hydrangea as planned, and I absolutely loved it. The flower color and size just looked so good with the Limelight foliage..I want these to thrive!

Arabella, Juuli, and Blue Boy have done much better for me (planted at the same time and close by). Last year I have to admit I let the poor garden go, so is it possible that Durandi is more sensitive to water and fertilizer?

Do these generally take longer to establish, or is there something I can do to help Durandi grow better? Thanks for any input.
