I find that any time I give Durandi even a small drink of water, it perks up and starts blooming again. My experience is that it likes its water.

Durandii took some time to establish for me, and I credit that to its lanuginosa blood (one of its parents). I know it can do well in our zone because the botanic garden in Milwaukee has a showstopper, but it's planted near a south wall, so in full sun and with the warmth that exposure allows.

You will get more growth and blooms with fertilizer, but I would place them in a location with as much sun as possible. You can also pinch back the stems as it grows to create more lateral growth and thus more flower buds.

Thanks, Michael - that's very helpful. I think both sun and heat may be issues. My back yard, even in its sunnier spots, isn't "full" sun, and is much cooler than the front due to tall trees.

I'll be extra careful with water and fertilizer...and I added some Arabellas nearby because those seem to be doing well in the same conditions.
