Hines Horticulture holds the US license for these little guys, so retailers that purchase from Hines will be able to provide them.

Caveat: my retail nursery no longer buys from Hines. They have huge minimums, are not careful in the shipping and transport so that plants arrive badly damaged and often diseased (travelling long distances in closed, dark, confined trucks - powdery mildew and heat damage are rampant) and they are incredibly slow in their bookkeeping, so that credits for returned/refused plants are not processed or received for many months. We are still trying to get credit for returns processed last fall!

That is good information to know gardengal. Will keep that in mind if I ever see these clematis for sale and will check the plants out well before purchasing them.

The ones that I have seen for sale from Hines at local retail nurseries have been in poor shape and expensive.

I saw them at local Lowe's and Walmart. The price was $19.99 for the 1.6 G pot (exactly like ones that are in the video). Most of the plants were in poor shape. Our local Walmart does not mark down their plants, but Lowe's does, so I bought 3 of them at half price. Hope they will recover...

I enjoyed that, thank you. Wouldn't you love to find some of these sitting at your local nursery or big box looking that healthy and lush??

I bought Versailles and Angelique last fall at my local nursury. The Versailles was full of buds and looking great this spring and then it got wilt and most of the plant died back. It is now starting to regrow and has 1 bud. The Angelique has done better and has had about half a dozen blooms so far. I am going to baby them this year and hopefully they will both bloom great next year.

We here in Northern IL are lucky - I know of 2 excellent nurseries in the area (each with 2 locations) that carry them. I got my Cezanne at 1 near my house on a bargain table at the end of season a couple years ago. I saw some this year for $20 for a gallon pot. I'm still trying to decide which to get.

I wonder if they are prone to wilt. They all looked like Flowerfan's one when I saw them in our local stores. I had to hard prune all 3 Patio Clems I bought.
Flowerfan2, I can see you planted a Lily and some other plant (Geranium?) in the same pot. Do they grow well together?

I bought 2 Hines clematis from a Farm Store here for 9.99 each. They were lovely plants, ready to go into the ground. However they were both named wrong.

Hi Alina, yes I have a lily, a golden heuchera, and a sweet pea in the same pot. It is a very large pot and the perennials are all doing nicely with the extra water and fertizer. Hopefully the heirloom(annual)sweet pea will flower well this year to make up for the sparse bloom on the clematis.

Alina- last year was the 1st that my Cezanne was in the garden. It suffered 1 episode of wilt. I'm hoping that I will not have a repeat of THAT performance.

Maybe, in the garden they will do better. I keep mine in the same pots they were sold. I just added some compost. The potting medium is really strange - it looks very sandy.
