Thanks jeanne. I looked it up, that's it. My wife planted it a few years ago and lost the tag. I didn't like it at first. But this year it's getting nice and full with alot of blooms. filix

Filix..you are so welcome..they get better with age..Mine is three years old and grew all over the top of my climbing rosa "New Dawn" and Met up with Clematis "Comtesse de Bouchard" this year..remember it's a hard pruning group 3~~..Jeanne

Those look nice. I have a new dawn on the other side of this trellis, with a 5 year old niobe. They looked great together until the japanese beetles chewed the tar out of them. I'm glad they seem to leave clems alone. filix

Oh darn, I almost ordered that clem and decided on something else instead. That is a pretty thing! Back on the list it goes.

I love her in photos but hated her in person when I saw a mature one last summer. I put the one I had reserved over the Inet back and chose another Clem instead. She looked moldy here. Hard to explain. Love the form but the color wasn't pretty like any of the photos on this thread.

So true!

We have several dozen varieties of clematis. Love them all except PPE... my least favorite and dug up and given away. PPE reminds me of paper tissue flowers we used to stick on floats.

That is why there are so many different clematis out there--at least one for everyone.
