Clematis That I Can Cut Back in Late Fall?

Is there a type of Clematis I can cut back in late fall?

I know I need one that would bloom on new wood, but from what I read they get cut back in late winter/early spring...but is there one that can be cut back in late fall?

I don't want that sraggely look during the winter.

I should have added this as well...

Looking for a high contrast between the foilage and flowers, to get that "pop" factor. I see these purple ones all over and they look very weak.

The clematis will be in a protected eastern exposure site. So it will only get 5 hours of sun per day.

I'm thinking Ville De Lyon Clematis??

Whether to cut back in the fall or wait until spring depends on if you will get fresh growth on the clematis if you cut back in the fall, not so much which clematis you are growing.
In my zone 4 I cut all my clematis back in late fall as we do not have enough warm temps after killing frosts to get fresh growth. Think back on your other perennials, do you have enough warm weather to get new growth on them? If so, clematis should probably be pruned in the late winter or early spring.
