I have no experience with Bee's Jubilee but many, if not most, clematis brown out in the summer sun. What I do in Petaluma is cut them all the way back after they bloom. With our long growing season I get two periods of bloom from them. I grow carnaby which has a color similar to Bee's Jubilee. When trying to decide where to plant it I read about it on clematis on the web. It said that it fades badly in the sun so I planted it under a spruce tree where it gets sun only in the very late afternoon. It has done well there and I get two nice flushes of bloom with minimal fading. Here's a link to Bee's Jubilee at clematis on the web: Clematis on the Web. It doesn't mention fading, but I find that most lighter colored clematis fade in the sun.

Thanks Bob, that was very helpful. I'm going to plant them in a different spot now on a trellis in an area of filtered sunlight. I don't want the rose arbor browned out. Too bad, it would have been nice. I wonder what other kind of flowering climber might be compatable with a climbing rose and be more heat tolerant?

I live in the foothills near Sacramento. There are many rose and clematis combinations that do well in full sun.
I cannot vouch for Bee's Jubilee as I have only started that one. It is growing on a structure surrounded by a bed of portland roses. I will keep an eye on it.
The blue clematis seem to do quite well, despite our blazing southern exposure. I have 'Blue Light','Blue Ravine', and 'Elsa Spaeth' growing with the rose Michaelangelo.
They are grown against a white wall,in full sun. The root areas are kept shaded and moist. No burned foliage.
I will take heed with the lighter colored clematis and try to keep them in shadier area.
