Some pix..

17 years ago

Well I have a couple pix here..Xmas Cactus, and a double purple dat are blooming. I have quite a few decent size buds on a triple yellow dat..I am hoping they will open *crossing fingers*. The dbl prpl dat doesn't have a scent, I guess since it's inside? Wonder if the yellow ones will. They were my most strongly scented ones outside.

Amaryllis bulbs I dug up, about 1 and a half weeks ago maybe? Getting growth! Hoping to have blooms in Jan early Feb?

{{gwi:586097}}

Crinums from April :) growing nicely..I have to turn them today, starting to lean towards the window..

{{gwi:586098}}

Boring Golden Pothos, lol..but I like it. I can't believe how much it grew since I bought it in the winter..only had a couple leaves and was in a tiny 3" pot.

{{gwi:586100}}

I have some nice white seed pods almost ready for the pickin on my NBJ..2 so far, lol

{{gwi:586102}}

Double Purple dat that opened the other day in the bedroom.

{{gwi:586104}}

Purple Heart with not very much purple in it right now from being inside, but it's happy.

{{gwi:586105}}

Bird Of Paradise I started from seed over the winter..

{{gwi:586106}}

Parlor Palm has a bloom...pretty funky lookin. If I get seeds..I have to read mroe about this..I am going to try and start them..should be interesting.

{{gwi:586107}}

Xmas Cactus just started blooming, it's earlier than last year..the only reason I can figure is because it get colder ealier than usual this year. Last year it didn't bloom till Dec 27th.

{{gwi:586108}}

{{gwi:586109}}

Hopefully I will have the triple yellow dats to share soon.

now to relive a few memories from the warmer days...Spring is ALMOST here...yes it is, don't argue!!

    Why do I have a feeling that it wouldn't do any good to argue with you, Daniella. Lots of beautiful stuff there, to get you to spring... which is right around the corner!

    Thanks for all those pics!!! All of your houseplants look great, and I like the outdoor pics too. I know the pothos/philodendrons are common but I still like them, I have one that is green with a gold streak down the center of the leaf that I relly like. Almost everyone that got a box from me got a piece of this because I had to give it a major haircut, it was growing out of control. I like how fast they grow with so little care. You have so many different plants, you are going to need 4 GHs pretty soon like Karyn.

    thanks evry1 :)
    Shawn, that pothos is only half of what it was about month ago. I gave mine a major trimming as well, and potted up the cuttings for a hanging planter for the porch next year. If I knew how long it was gonna bleed for, I would have put band-aids on it, lol. Made puddles on the floor constantly for like 2 weeks! I def need at least one decent size GH. Every room in the house has plants everywhere in it except 2 of the kid's rooms. But I did notice that my son has room by one of his windows for a plant or 2, lol. I love it tho, looks like a jungle in here. If only I had more windows.
    If I had a GH I think I'd be living in it with the plants, lol.

    Elizabeth, it's 45 here right now, cold but not too bad when the sun is out.

    Daniella the pictures are wonderful. Now about your pothos......the guy that repairs Rachel flute for us has one or I guess it is actually several but anyway it grows from the top of his entertainment center down to the floor all the way across and it is about 6 feet wide. He put little white lights hanging down with it, so pretty. He also had some sort of palm that he brings in his house in the winter and it is about 8 feet tall and there it sits when I take her flute to him. It has been a while since we have had any repairs but last time I took him a brug and he didn't charge me for repairs!!!! I need to just check in with him to see how the plant did this summer. It is probably time for an adjustment anyway.

    Great stuff Daniella! What does NBJ stand for, and what is that vine climbing up that tree, not the passiflora? The Tatula Le Fleur datura is such a beauty, love the Stargazer lilies (is it Stargazer?), and I love ... o.k., I love them all!

    lol Theresa, I have so many pix, I had to open a second PB account! I already have about 300 in it..have over 2000 in the other one. This is my Xmas cactus last year, and now..

    {{gwi:586140}}

    pic today, more blooms open.

    {{gwi:586141}}

    It is in an 8" pot.
    Theresa, you gonna be home this morn? I'm gonna give you a call in a bit. Everything is so green, yeah that's cuz it's only December! LMAO! Let's see how hey look in Feb!

    El, NBJ stands for Night Blooming Jasmine. The flowers on the tree with the passi are Nicotiana Mutablis 'Marshmallow'. They open white, and as they get older they darken up..I love it..here are always 3 colors at once on the plant..and it gets ALOT of flowers! It doesn't climb, it was just kinda leaning against the tree, then the passies wrapped around it and kept it there. The passies did a better job than any stakes did! Mine all bloomed aaall summer & fall till the frost got them, and DH..he chopped down the 3 in the front over the weekend..claims he didn't know they were my plants?!?! Men..ARGH!! Can't tell me he didn't see the flowers! It was still blooming! ANyway, the one in that pic got over 8'tall. it was a monster..and was only in a 2 gallon pot!
    I like the tatula, I was just bummed the blooms were as small as they were.
    Yes, Stargazer Lilies..o I love those! they didn't get as tall this year though for some reason.

    Mary, I can only hope my pothos will get that big! holy cow! Next time you go there ask him if you can take a pic! I wanna see! Mine was dragging on the floor as well, sitting up on top of that thing it's on..why can't I think of what it's called right now? lol. Brain fart. Anyway, the dog kept nibbling on it, and it was getting stepped on, so I trimmed it up, and a couple of the pieces are looped up to keep it out of the dog's reach.

    I have 4 Majesty Palms inside..so far they are doing OK..I hope they make it. The two tallest ones are touching the ceiling in the bedroom. DH keeps complaining he gets poked in the eye walking to the bed, lol..oh well..how many times ya gonna let it poke your eye before you use your hand to move it when you walk by..or better yet, don't walk so close? That palm is staying right there!!

    thank you :)

    Kylie, LMAO I was just saying that last night!!! Where in the world are we gonna put the Xmas tree??? I literally have NO room for one! The kids and DH will hate me, but we may have to get a tabletop one..either that, or it will have to come in the front door and stay there..te front door will have to be blocked off by it! Everyone will have to use the back door! O well. Maybe I could convinve them that we'll decorate the Majesty Palms instead, lol! O Xmas tree talk reminds me I have to get the decorations into the front yard, and go up into the attic and drag stuff down the ladder of death. Our attic ladder is directly over the basement stairs..if that ladder breaks..I'm so screwed. I'll fall straight into the basement onto the stairs.

    Wow its like a flower catalog, lol. Can I order now, lol. Really pretty as always. My Christmas cactus is confused adn blooming too. Its red! I got it after it bloomed last year and didn't know the color. Its very pretty like yours but seems like most of them are opening at the bottom. I don't have room for a xmas tree either. I might have to put one out in the flower bed, lol. Time to go home from work and cook supper. See you all later.

    Kristy roflmao...of course you had to be last and you just took all my thoughts away what I was going to write with your catalog message.

    Bob I think you got Daniella figured out lol.

    DANIELLA WOW. I read this thread at the perfect time. I was just outside unhooking the waterhoses again. It is FREEZING out there and the yard looks so sad. THANKS!

    Your Golden Pothos is not boring. I always kill them ...I think I overwater those :-( ? Oh and your x mas cactus is just to die for!
    But seeing ALL the bulbs and plants you have reminded me of one thing you said not to long ago : If I move I take it ALL with me !! You need a grate just for your garden things roflmao.

    I enjoyed your pictures a lot. Did I mention that already?

    ooo Kristy, the red ones are so pretty! Once again I forgot to ask DH for some $$ this morn, so looks like I can't go and buy any plants. wah. No shipping till spring, lol.

    lol, Yup I think Bob has had me figured out right from the beginning!
    Yeah Lucy, basically the only way to kill them is over watering. You should try again, ignore it this time though, lol.

    Tj, that dbl prpl dat just has that orangey tint from the light in the bedroom, lol. Does look pretty though doesnt it? This one wasnt as dark as it should have been, was a lighter purple, I guess cuz it bloomed inside, but I liked it.

    Go get them dahlias SJN!

    thanks everyone :)
