If you are asking if the same clematis varieties that are affected by diseases in the UK can be expected to have similar problems here, the answer is yes :-) However, I do not find clematis to be particularly disease-prone and I think you can avoid a lot of common issues merely by carefully preparing both the site and the plant before planting. Wilt, whatever one attributes the source to (and I'm not entirely convinced it is simply just a fungal problem), can often be outwitted by careful planting methods, is typically outgrown by the plants that are most susceptible to it and tends to be focused just with the large flowered hybrids (pruning group 2). Selecting pruning group 3 varieties will tend to lead to few, if any, issues with wilt, ditto pruning group 1 choices. I have never experienced any serious issues with PM, but that also tends to be a very climate-related issue and while cosmetically unappealling, generally causes no long term harm to the plant. And it is quite treatable.

Other than that, I have never encountered any more serious diseases with clematis after growing dozens of different varieties for nearly 30 years.
