Mushroom compost / manure

I'm always a bit leary of using manure, I tend to have a heavy hand, or in this case a heavy shovel. What would be an ideal amount to incorporate? I had used a ratio of about 2 or 3 parts manure to 7 parts peat moss and soil ... I think and hope this should be fine?
