Just remember it will take a good three years for you to really enjoy your clematis as they are the 1st year they "Sleep,2nd year they "Creep" then 3rd year they leap..you can plant various colors but I would stick with the same pruning group to be less of a headache for you...I like the pruning group 3's as they are vigorous and floriferous but remember they will be hard pruned each late winter/early spring and will have to regrow up each year...so for a time till they grow back up you won't be blocking your neighbors...pruning group 2's will stay on the wrought iron and not be pruned except to keep in bounds...that you might like better but they will be brown over the winter until they bud out again the following Spring...Jeanne
