Allow me to throw the first snowball. Are you using Gamborg's medium without MS salts and sucrose? I have a recipe for Nephrolepsis media that includes 1/2 MS salts, 20g/L sucrose, 0.1 mg/L of NAA and 1.0 mg/L of Kinetin. If you are using all of these you might try different concentrations of hormones to find one that works best for the species you are trying to grow.

I was congratulating you on your refreshingly rapid corrective to my provocative pessimism - that's all. It's actually gratifying that - on dozy Gardenweb of all places - somebody competent locked on to the OP's ambitious appeal.

In that case please accept my apology for questioning your motives. I agree it is kind of a shot in the dark looking to discuss these topics on gardenweb but there are a few of us plant nerds lurking around here.
