overwintering brugs outside

I live in zone 6b/7a, just outside Washington, DC. It has been suggested to me that I could overwinter my brugs outside if I would just cover them with mulch. Is this really feasible in my area? If so, how deep must the mulch be, and is this limited to just a certain number of varieties?.....Elder

Elder, You are about 2 1/2 hours away from me & there is no way I would leave them outside (unless you are looking for an excuse to replace them). lol

Elder; Just to put my two cents in;I have even lost one(variegated variety) trying to overwinter it in my attached but unheated garage. I learned my lesson about Brugs and susceptability to freezing temps. Ross.
