Since you are looking for simple white drapes, I think the best approach is to work with a professional drapery workroom. They would have access to many fabrics that would make up into beautiful drapes. You would take them samples of your upholstery fabrics to make sure that the undertones work together.

Silk drapes are nice, but rather formal. You can get a nice effect from linen, cotton, linen/cottom blends and even nice quality synthetics with interesting textures. There's a wide range of choices and pricing.

Working with professionals will mean that your drapes can have generously full pleats and they will be the correct length for the room. They will also install them on excellent quality drapery hardware that will be up to the weight of the drapes and will allow them to be pulled smoothly back and forth across the window on a daily basis for years to come.
