I don't want to appear like i know it all. but just offering some helpful hints . moist peat moss will root your brugs without that awful smelling water with better results. I have for trade huge clippings of white , pumpkin, pink. am looking to trade for lavender. if interested email me at mrfixit1946@yahoo.com . ps: wish i could show you pictures of my 7 foot plants.

There are no lavender brugs that I know of unless you mean datura or the other type of regular lavendar plants. I know someone on here wanted a pumpkin brug. Can you post a pic?

I knew Gloria was looking for Pumpkin, lol. I need to make a trip to Germany and sneak home some cuttings, lol.

Can we do that? My husbands aunt, who is my age, is from Germany and goes to see her mother twice a year, would she be able to bring back a cutting or plant? I know she would do this for me, if it is legal. What process does she need to follow to do this ? Barbra,

Mike & F4F: Yes! I'm looing for the Brug NAMED Pumpkin. Not just pumpkin-colored Brug! How nice of you to remember, F4F. Can we bring plants in from other countries? I know CA is very strict (and with good reason) about bringing in plants and fruit from state to state. Be a great excuse to have a Brug trip overseas. I think this would be a fun group to do that with!!! lmao! Gloria

Barry...When I say there are no lavender brugs....I mean we have no access to them...I did see those you are talking about and I had to look away..LOL..I'll be dead before they are available to us....LOLx2...Edna

PS...I do know that some of the big name hybridizers go to Germany and buy, how, I don't know.

Sounds like a great time, Gloria! My brother is going to Hawaii the first of the year for 3 weeks. I just talked to him last night about bringing me back some plants/seeds. Anybody know legalities or how about nurseries there?

threas: Let's find out the rules and then he can leave all his clothes there and pack the luggage full of cuttings !!!! We can be doing Brug Running!! We'll have to make sure we all have bail money available!! LOL.

Theresa. There are places right in the airport that you can buy Ti leaf and plumeria cuttings for sure. There are lots of others available there. They are more strict on what comes in that what goes out. Just make sure he doesn't do like me and put a bag full of hawiian salt in his suitcase or they will think you are smuggling drugs, lol. My husbands family collects salt straight from the salt ponds and we brought 2 gallon ziplock bags back. When they xrayed the luggage the guy said please tell me that is salt in there and I had forgotten about and as what like huh? SO they had to open the luggage, lol. We went with one suit case of clothes and took all the rest empty to bring back stuff. You can also buy an ice chest there and pack it with stuff and tape it up to send back as luggage I think the weight limit is 70lbs. We put them on a bathroom scale as we packed. Tell him to check out Walmart. They have way cool stuff there cheap. Nothing like our walmart. All the tourist trap stuff is there for 1/4 the price of outdoor places and if he goes to Oahu tell him to go to the swap meet at Olaha Stadium. You can get all kinds of cool local made stuff there cheap.

I have a friend who just returned from Hawaii..
" I am going to be getting some more sent to me by my brother because I wasn't able to bring a whole bunch back because of the regulations.!First you have to get you cuttings. Then wash the heck out of them. Then get a big enough box to put them in. Then take them to the airport to have them inspected and then they will watch you seal the box. Then they put their stamps all over it. "
I am still looking for a coral and lavender to add to my collection.
