That looks like sensitive fern, Onoclea sensibilis.

Yep, I've got 'em all over our property. They're the first to fold their tents and go dormant at the hint of cold weather; that's why they're called "Sensitive" ferns.

I agree. I have them too. They spread rapidly, but are so shallow growing they are easy to root out if they get invasive.

These do well in a boggy area, or near spray from a waterfall. I always called them "netted chain fern" which applies to the fertile fronds, but I think sensative is the prefered name.

Netted chain is the name for one of the Woodwardias.
