This is the only place that I use this email address either so I know that it came through here. I consider this an invasion of my privacy. I wonder if GW can trace the IP address of the person that did this?

The have a web site. I think that GW should be informed, as well.

I got it too, and don't find it that big an issue. It's not like it's someone selling diamond-shaped blue pills. I'm guessing it was done manually, not electronically, and as such don't have that big a problem with it. Zero tolerance strikes me as adding up to a big headache, and ultimately stopping the flow of information. Spam is different, of course!

I got it too and at both my email addresses. I had changed my email to my netscape one because I like the netscape email better than hotmail. So that means the addresses have been harvested for some time!!

I am not really put off by this either. It is not often you get mail regarding an interest. Some of its looks interesting to me but my cash resources will not be spent on botanical literature since most of what I need I just print off the net since it is for my own reference. I much rather buy plants instead. Too bad they were not offerring unique Chinese ferns etc. for sale and distributed like the way Wistuba carns are distributed in the USA!! Now that might be interesting!!

Is it a bona fide business? The website was so poorly done that I wondered immediately if it was phony, set up simply to get credit card numbers, etc.

Good thought, Rhizo. I didn't go to the website. There was a lot of effort put into the email though. Perhaps a retailer could get the books without taking the same risk (ie buying on terms, with a cheque).
