Worms eat the things that eat the leaves and compost, so they're probably not eating your live moss, per se.

I've heard that worms dislike mustard. Although, moss might not like mustard, either. Do a search on mustard plants, see if anything comes up.

I always think the worms are increasing the lushness of my moss by increasing the lushness of my soil. I believe they are a sign that I'm doing my moss thing right. I don't want to be too earthmothery about it, but maybe all you have to do is change how you think about it. I mean, honestly, how much can an earthworm eat, anyway.

Well, if they're really a problem...
Try luring them away with another delicious meal. Mine seem to love compost and compostable things (especially bread). Of course, this probably wouldn't be too effective for a large area.

One third cup ground mustard (powder) dissolved in 1 gallon of water, poured on a one foot by one foot area. As all the worms come up, pick them up and move them.

I have no idea what this will do to mosses, but the mustard irritates the worms' skin. This may not work well in clay soil. Of course, the worms will move right back in, but it might give you temporary control.

Hi.I like moss but I also like worms.In our garden they do a lot of the digging for us.To give them a bit of a scare
you could put up small signs reading:"Trespassing worms will be taken out on a fishing trip" ...only kidding of course...Good gardening. T.
PS.Have you thought of introducing a few moles?

Birds do more to dislodge moss in my garden than worms. Maybe they're after the worms.
