Cinnamon ferns?

A friend gave me, what she called Cinnamon ferns...Is there a proper name for these and where and when are they to be planted...

She dropped them off with no instructions and then left on a trip and I don't want them sitting if they should be planted....Thanks

The fern grows in acid bogs and along the margins of such bogs. Check this one link

They like wet and are quite tolerant of it. However, they do fine in moderately moist garden settings as well. If they get too dry, they will go dormant early.

The scientific name is Osmunda cinnamomea.
