What time of day did you cut them ?
Did you happen to notice if the stem (stalk) that remained wilted had any damage up it, like eaten anywhere or something along those lines?

I had a similar experience with that at market this week, but mine was related to the pot I had it in(metal). I recut and it started to come out of it, but damage was already done. They never fully recovered enough to sell.

Well, I have a update on my wilted Delphinium. I had to re cut the stem of the one Delphinium that wouldn't take up water about four times and then I finally put it in warm water with extra preservative and it snapped out of it and took up water beautifully. I kept it in a vase in the house to see how it would do and it last over a week. I have been cutting a lot of Delphinium lately and have found that cutting them late in the evening has prevented any wilting for me. Every time I cut in the morning I have several wilt. I'm not sure why this would be....but I'll just keep cutting in the evening. I make florist deliveries in the morning and I don't want to take them wilted flowers!
